I came across the topic of euthanasia when my mother talked to me about an author whom she liked, Terry Pratchett. She told me about how he was developing Alzheimer's, and chose to move to a whole different country to be assisted in committing suicide. This interested me. Why is it illegal to help someone end there pain and suffering, even with their consent? When History Fair came around, I immediately knew I would be creating a website explaining the rights and responsibilities of those who want assistance in death, and of those providing the assistance.
The research was relatively easy. My main source was euthanasia.com. Although the site itself might have had some unreliable information, it did have links to many articles from reliable sources, such as Medical Doctors who have seen patients in terrible pain, and give their support to the legalization of assisted suicide. There are also law statutes on euthanasia.com, and these statutes helped me to understand the legality of euthanasia across the U.S. and around the world.
